We recommend having your piano professionally tuned every six months. Instruments that are used frequently (churches, schools, music teachers) may need to be tuned every three months to keep them sounding their best.

  • Tuning

Bryan does all of his tunings by ear, unaided by any electrical device. This means you get a customized tuning that fits the scale of your piano perfectly and musically.  The basic fee for a tuning in Delaware County or northern Franklin County is $90.

  • Small repairs

Do you have a sticking key, a squeaky pedal, strange noises, or a broken string? These are just a few of the minor problems Bryan can fix at your home. Just be sure to tell us what the problem is when you schedule your appointment so he can bring the right tools.

  • Broken key tops

Whether you have ivory or plastic keytops, Bryan can help you decide if replacement or repair is the best option. Prices vary, but we'll be happy to give you a written estimate.

  • Voicing

The voicing process builds tone and power in your instrument. Tonal response needs to be even from note to note as well as appropriate to the instrument and its environment. Have you noticed that some notes "stick out" or that the top register is too bright? Bryan will work with you to create the right voicing on your instrument.
  • Replace bass strings

Worn bass strings rob your instrument of the essential tonal support of the bass section of the piano. Just like any stringed instrument, the piano needs new strings from time to time, and bass strings will need replacement faster than the other strings.  A new set of custom scaled bass strings can bring your piano back into tonal balance.
  • Action rebuilding

With age, action parts gradually lose their ability to connect artist with instrument. A quality action job will help you transmit ideas through your fingers more seamlessly. There are many parts in the piano action system that may need to be replaced. Bryan can help you sort through your options and will provide a written estimate.
  • Damp-Chaser system installation and maintenance

A Damp-Chaser system can help to regulate the humidity inside the piano. Since humidity fluctuations are the main reason pianos go out of tune, a Damp-Chaser system can help keep the piano in better tune for longer periods. Bryan will install a complete system that is the right size for your instrument. All you have to do is fill the water reservoir periodically and change the filter pads every year.
